Diamant is a short meditation on how we tell stories and histories through objects. In the film, a bicycle of a former socialist state is juxtaposed alongside a contemporary American café. Notions of Ostalgie, or nostalgia for East Germany, are explored. The film reflects upon transformations: from childhood to adulthood, from community to isolation, and from a divided to a united Germany.
